Oops!

Obviously, I forgot about this blog. This past year has been a whirlwind. Dad is doing pretty well, he's back to golfing several times a week and dancing with Mom too. Other long-standing issues have finally been resolved with a resolution that isn't perfect, but it is good enough. Kirsten is about to start her senior year and is ready for high school to be over. She wanted to be a Kindergarten teacher, but after volunteering this summer, has found her "calling". She wants to teach Special Ed. It is nice to see her so excited about her life. She wants to attend Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. It's a nice school. I think she can go to a "better" school, but she loves the school, so it's fine with me. Kaitlin is still into singing/acting. She just got braces today and will be getting 4 teeth pulled next week. This kid never had a cavity. She doesn't know what she's in for. Hmmm...what else. Finally got to Philadelphia this year. We had the BEST time. I didn't get to see Kym or Sue, but other than that, it was perfect. We also went to Hershey, New York, and Cape May. Going back to school in a week. I'm sort of looking forward to that. I miss seeing my friends and I look forward to meeting a bunch of new little punks. That's all for now, I'll try to post more often.

Home alone

I am currently home alone. This may not seem like a big deal, but I haven't been alone in my house for at least 16 years. Both my girls are at sleepovers and the hubby is working and won't be home until after 10. I have an hour and 10 minutes to myself. I don't know what to do with myself. Obviously, this just shows me that I need to get a life of my own. So, I'm getting off the computer...I don't know what I'm going to do, but it's not going to be cleaning or laundry.

Sound of Music

My daughter loves singing. I really don't know how talented she is, but I've been told she "has a gift" by more than a few people. I think she's good...but gifted?! Anyway, I want to support her in her dreams, so I let her join a new community theater in our area. It is really way too expensive for us, but we did it anyway.
Practices were weekly, and every week it was a challenge just to get her there. She didn't have a singing role...so she wasn't that interested. The show was this past weekend. Practices the past two weeks were almost every day and ranged from three hours to just about the whole day on some weekends. It was overwhelming. Many practices seemed so chaotic and not so good. Of the four performances this weekend, I think three of them were great, but the last one had some problems...maybe everyone was just exhausted. Needless to say, my whole family is drained.
My daughter is now SO excited about beginning again in the fall. I just hope she can get a role with some singing in it. Now that she is known by the director, maybe all the "good" parts won't go to their "friends" kids. Do I sound petty? Maybe, but some of the kids in the play were just not good, either talent wise, or behavior, so why deal with it? Anyway, I'm done ranting about this. My daughter, in the long run, enjoyed the experience...I think =)

Paying it Forward

This is a reply to a friend's blog, Blissful Thoughts, and I thought it sounded very interesting. I enjoy reading his posts, but, until today, never considered starting my own blog. I'm really not that interesting! Anyway, my friend posts very interesting, and usually humerous things on his blog. Today, however, I noticed his blog was about "Paying it Forward". I remember a movie of that title a few years ago that I enjoyed, so it caught my eye. Yeah, this is kinda like a chain letter I guess, but it sounds more fun. Now, I'm going to "plagerize" from his blog so I get the info. correct. "The first three people to leave a comment will receive a hand made gift from me the only thing you have to do is participate and carry on the gift giving to three more people... as soon as you have left a comment do a "pay it forward post" on your blog and continue the giving. I will contact the first three comentee's to get their addresses.

That's it....my first blog entry! =)
